Following their recent move to larger premises in Amersham, Hartgraph, colour commercial printers, have installed a Mailmaster C4 Compact envelope inserter from KAS Paper Systems.
Director, Steve Walters said, 'The return on investment was immediate with the anticipated efficiency improvements.' As well as doubling the size of their premises, Hartgraph also invested in a new Heidelberg XL75-5 litho press with both coater & Inpress colour control.
The Mailmaster Compact has a prime document feeder with an integral folder for inserting personalised letters printed completed or just overprinted on Hartgraph's Linoprint's C751 digital press and insert stations which handle a wide variety of digital and litho printed documents up to 7 mm thick. It has multiple feeding from each feeder to a pre-set quantity and top load feeders for ease of filling.
Mr Walters continued, 'We have always completed mailings for clients in-house, but when KAS Paper Systems approached us with a small footprint envelope inserting system, which could handle inserts into envelopes between DL and C4, we saw the potential to develop this side of our business still further. The demonstration was insightful and showed the machines ease of use, together with its strong construction and so to us, it made complete financial sense.
'What appealed to us about the Mailmaster Compact was its simplicity and good value for money, with the option to use OMR, BCR and 2D reading capabilities as well as additional modular feeders. Our requirement was cost effective DL to C4 production, with a compact footprint. Above all it had to be straight forward to operate, reliable and designed for easy set up and quick changeover from one job to another, making it equally suitable for short or longer run work. We run it at up to 5000 filled envelopes an hour.'
